Strategic Planning

The Collingswood Public Schools Strategic Planning Process

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” - Nelson Mandela

During the 2004-2005 school year, the Collingswood Public School District developed a Strategic Plan to help guide the district in its planning for the future. The Strategic Planning Committee and action teams developed twelve solid strategies and sets of objectives that have helped to guide the district over the past three years.

In September 2008, as we opened our new middle school/high school complex and moved our sixth graders into the middle school, we embarked upon a process of reviewing the then current strategic plan and renewing our vision and goals for the future. During that time, school funding tightened, state testing expanded, and the federal NCLB law was up for re-authorization. A new Strategic Plan was developed that took the district through the 2014-2015 school year.

As we moved through the 2014-2015 school year, the District revisited its Strategic Plan and began a process called "2020 Vision - A Clear Look Ahead." With renewed energy and focus, a committee of parents, administrators, Board members, and representatives from our sending districts, embarked upon the creation of a new Mission, Vision, and Core Purpose, as well as the process of defining our priorities as a District.
